こんにちは〜 \(◕ω◕)/♥Let’s study Japanese Kanji 雪(ゆき- snow)!

Have you ever seen 雪祭り (Yuki Matsuri – Snow Festival) in Sapporo♥♥

This festival happens every year in February, and it is one of the biggest events in Japan during the winter. This year it was held from February 5 – 11th.

Sapporo is the capital of Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan.

The first Sapporo Snow Festival was held in Odori Park in 1950, with only six snow statues made by local high school students.

Beyond all expectations, the festival attracted about fifty thousand people and soon became a major winter event of Sapporo.

If you can believe it, the buildings and statues in these pictures were all made out of snow:
