 Today’s mimetic word is すやすや (suyasuya) which can be combined with the verb 眠る (nemuru – “to sleep”) to mean “sleeping peacefully” or “sleeping quietly”

 It can also be written using katakana: スヤスヤ

kodomo ga suya suya nemutteiru

 For example, 子供がすやすや眠っている (kodomo ga suya suya nemutteiru) – “The child is sleeping peacefully.”

 子供 (kodomo) means child”.

 眠っている (nemutteiru) is the plain present progressive form (is ~ing) of the verb 眠る (nemuru – to sleep)
