 Clothes in Japanese is 服 (fuku)

 Today we will learn Japanese vocabulary for clothes

 T-shirt in Japanese is ティーシャツ (tīshatsu)!

pants

 Pants in Japanese is ズボン (zubon).

 You can also say パンツ (pantsu) but sometimes this word is also used to mean underpants so it might be better to use ズボン (zubon).

 靴 (kutsu) means “shoes” and 下 (shita) means “under” so 靴下 (kutsushita) means “under shoes,” in other words, socks!

 Underwear in Japanese is 下着 (shitagi).

 下 (shita) means “under” and is the character for “wear” (着る – kiru – means “to wear”) so 下着 (shitagi) literally means “underwear” and can be used to refer to any type of underwear such as underpants/bras/etc.

 Outerwear in Japanese is 上着 (uwagi).

  is the character for “up” or “above” andis the character for “wear.” Outerwear is clothes that you wear above your other clothes!
